The disasterous tour of Australia,by the Indian cricket team, is still one Test away from completion. It has been a humiliating performance and even if by some miracle the Indians were to win the fourth test, it would not in any way mitigate the pain felt by millions of cricket lovers all over the country. The famed batting line up has let down India very badly. Between them they have not even been able to notch up the total of any first innings score by the Australians. Some heads have to roll.
It is time that Sachin, David, Laxman and Dhoni were droppedfrom the Indian Test team once and for all. Already it is being suggested that Laxman will be axed, meaning thereby that the other three will be continued with. That itself will be the problem. All the four need to make way for younger players.
In India, the cricket Boards are run mostly by ageless politicians who themselves have never played the game. They therefore believe that more aged a player the better he will perform. In a few cases rich industrialists are in command. Why should the politiciansand industrialists head the Boards is just not understandable. The Gujarat Cricket Board is headed by Narender Modi and Secretary is the infamous and out of bounds from Gujarat, Amit Shah.Together they have ruined the game and local players are migrating to others states. The politicians will now drop one senior and play politics with others.
How much more time should be given to Sachin Tendulkar to score his hundredth hundred. India keeps getting humiliated but he will go on playing. His refluxes are no longer those of a much younger player. That is why he and Dravid and Laxman keep getting out either bowled or LBW. They are simply not able to play the rising balls. Did theBoard not know that in England, Australia and West Indies it is pace which is the weapon of attack. Yet the Indian batsmen are not trained to play rising pace balls. It is pathetic to see these vetetren batsmen cow down to pace attack.
It is time Sachin, Dravid and Laxman should immidiately announce their retirement from all forms of cricket. If they do not, then they should be dropped. It is time hard decisions, in the interest of the game were taken either by these players or the selection committee. It would go a long way to build a young team which can blossom in the time to come. Dhoni can be retained for the one day and twenty-twenty matchesand if he falis can be then shown the door. Same should be done to Sehwag also who continues to play in a cavalier manner irrespective of the teams needs.
Let us not for a moment think that any form of injustice is being done to them. They have played sufficiently beyond their cricketing age and earned crores to last them and their progenys for almost all times to come. They have had their fill and now it is time others were given a chance.
We shall definitely miss the Dravid the wall, the stylish Laxman, the swashbukling Dhoni and the master Sachin. Better to see them go voluntarily today, then see them go, by being literally kicked out later on. Time to say bye to them.
Bye Sachin,Bye Dravid, Bye Laxman, Bye Dhoni. Have a wonderful post retirement life.
